Ohio TechNet (OTN) co-leads the Ohio Manufacturing Workforce Partnership (OMWP), a statewide effort to help 5,000 people jumpstart manufacturing careers through innovative Earn & Learn programs. As part of this effort, OTN serves on OMWP’s Diversity & Inclusion Task Force that is leading outreach to connect women, people of color, veterans and formerly incarcerated adults with these opportunities.
Through the Task Force, Ohio TechNet is coordinating efforts statewide with:
- Educators
- State agencies
- Economic development partners
- Employers, including The Ohio Manufacturers’ Association, the Manufacturing Institute and some individual companies
OMWP’s Task Force is playing an important role in ensuring diverse Ohioans are recruited to participate in Earn & Learn programs that can lead to long-term careers in manufacturing with good wages and benefits and room to grow.
